I'm a refugee from the music business sitting in the shadows. I hate singers that don't write their own music. I hate crappy lyrics. I hate whiny earnest tenor late teen boys singing about love when it's obvious they have no clue what they're singing about since they didn't write the damn song in the first place. I hate "entertainers" who sing and are only on the radio because they are good looking and make foxy videos -- they also don't write their songs and their lyrics tend to be sophomoric so they're a triple threat deserving of my loathing. I LOVE clever lyrics that aren't smugly self -aware. I love voices with depth, soul, and honesty. I love loud obnoxious party music that doesn't take itself seriously. I like interesting characters who are flawed. I despise "chick lit". I hate Hollywood Endings unless it's a movie from the Golden Age. That's where I'm coming from.
